Wiper blades...What do you use?

Let's talk about all things that people see (minus wheels and tires) as well as mods and repairs for your fine GM Truck/SUV. Wind and rain deflectors, tint, color schemes, wheel liners and bumpers.

Wiper blades...What do you use?

Post by OnlyinaChevy »

Normally I would go with the OEM blades on my trucks, but over the past couple years I've opted for aftermarket brands over GM. I have played no favorites thus far...I've used Trico, Bosch, Rain-X and the OEMs the first couple years (which are damn near double the price of the aftermarket substitutes (which seem to last half the time)).

Currently I am running the Bosch Pure Vision and they seem to be holding up pretty well for the atypical "wet" year we've had in Oklahoma. At nearly 6 months, they still clear the window pretty damn good, even with the sometimes horizontal rainfalls we've had this summer.

What is everyone else using?

I use Bosch Icons on my truck and they last 1-2 years with a little cleaning once every 6 months or so with an alcohol pad.
I am sticking with the stock wiper blades on the Impala since they are the beam type and they seem to work well.

Bosch Icons here as well... I've gotten almost 3yrs out of a set. It is def worth paying the extra for the nicer blades.

I use Anco wiper blades. The sun kills the blades out here, not the use. No matter the brand we get about 6 months-1 year depending on where you live.

Damn, that sucks. I'd do the same if that were the case in my state.

I think I've got the Rain-X Latitutdes. Don't remember. Been about 1.5 - 2 years since I've changed them, even with all the snow that SH and I have gotten the past 2 winters

OK, so because I wasn't looking at the suggestions here, I went with (what now seems to be an off brand) Trico Onyx. All I have to say is....Trico didn't do ALL the research they should have done in order to call their wipers "universal". I bought a set while I was up in Canton PA back in December. THey are still in my garage because they DON'T fit on the 2009 Silverado no matter which attachment they put in the package. I'll need to bring them back to Advance Auto Parts (the only auto parts store in the area I was in) and see if those fucksticks will allow me to trade them out for something else...like the Rain-X or Bosch that I'm more accustomed to.
