Broken Tilt Seat Handle (quick fix) 2009 Silverado

Post by 09chevyman » Thu Oct 18, 2018 8:48 am

If you're a constant seat fiddler (lay mine back everyday on lunch) here's a quick fix until you get a new one.
The handle broke ( simple crack) along the gears, just pull it out (simple pin spring to remove it) after you pull the cover at the seat belt.
Place four zip ties along the round part, fairly tight. But not too tight to crush it.
Slide it back in place, I didn't replace the spring pin for time being waiting on new handle to arrive.

Nothing like a good, cheap workaround. Thanks Brian!

Tell me how I have upset you, because I want to know how to do it again.

In Alabama we use bailing wire. It lasts longer.

I have never fiddled my seat. If I ever do I'll try this.
